1. How do I get started?
Use the contact page to send your details and I will respond within 24 hours.
We will arrange an initial session, which will be online using Zoom, for 30 minutes.
This session is free of charge.
We will chat about what has brought you to seek counselling and what you hope to gain.
2. How long will a counselling session last for and how much will it cost?
Each session will run for 60 minutes and will cost £35 for online, telephone and email sessions. I will update the website when face to face resumes.
3. How often should I have counselling sessions and how many will I need?
The frequency and number of sessions have no fixed formula.
Initially it is normally weekly then the pattern can change based on what you bring to sessions and how you feel. The pattern can change throughout your period of therapy.
We would have an informal review every 6 weeks to reflect and plan next steps.
I follow ethical standards and will never prolong therapy.
You will be able to judge when it is a good time to end counselling and reviews will support you to make that decision.
4. Are the sessions confidential?
There are some legal and ethical exceptions which I will fully explain in the initial session.
A therapeutic relationship is unique. It enables you to share things you may never have discussed before and discover things about yourself.
All communication within the therapeutic relationship is confidential whether in person, online, telephone or emails.
